The train

The first Transcantábrico train was launched in 1983.
A few years later, two luxury trains were created: the Transcantábrico Gran Lujo and the Transcantábrico Clásico. The Transcantábrico Clásico became the Costa Verde Express, modelled on the classic trains of the golden age of the Belle Epoque railway, but equipped with modern comfort and technology. The carriages, lounges and rooms have been carefully renovated and decorated.
A welcoming atmosphere and professional staff with a highly personalised service are the hallmarks of the Costa Verde Express, which offers you an unparalleled opportunity to discover the green north of Spain with its beautiful landscapes, culture and gastronomy.
The carriages of the Costa Verde Express are designed with pleasure in mind. There is a restaurant car and a salon car to enjoy the various activities, a lounge car to relax and take in the scenery, a bar car to enjoy a drink... Real jewels of the railway era.

Lunch and dinner are served à la carte, breakfast is a sumptuous buffet, all on board the train. You will be offered a unique gastronomic experience on board, with a clear influence of the famous cuisine of northern Spain, combined with some international gastronomic trends.
You can enjoy the bar service for drinks with or without alcohol, coffee or a selection of herbal teas either in the saloon carriages or in the suite.
In the late evening or after dinner, various leisure activities are offered in the salon car. Parties, live music, cultural and gastronomic activities, etc. take place here.
During the day, comfortable clothing and footwear is recommended, especially for the planned excursions. In the evening, more formal dress is recommended, although no specific etiquette is required.
The train can accommodate 46 guests.
