The tall ship is your comfortable floating hotel - and the wind determines the course. Please note: The route varies depending on the wind conditions, flexibility is part of the adventure. Itinerary Italy Cycling & sailing Day 1: Arrival in Porto Santo Stefano - welcome to the gateway to Tuscany! Individual arrival in the charming harbor town of Porto Santo Stefano, which delights with its Mediterranean flair and picturesque location on the northern coast of the Monte Argentario peninsula. Your floating home awaits you from 18:00 for check-in - if you arrive earlier, you can stow your luggage on board from 14:00 and enjoy a relaxed start to your vacation. How about a first stroll through the winding alleyways of the old town? The façades of the houses, built in the medieval Borgo style, glow in soft shades of beige and rosé - a real postcard motif. High above the town towers the mighty Fortezza Spagnola, a Spanish fortress from the 17th century, which was once used for defense and today offers an impressive view of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Back on board, you can look forward to dinner together and a first night in the idyllic harbor of Porto Santo Stefano - the perfect start to your journey along the Tuscan coast. Day 2: On two wheels through nature and history After breakfast on board, it's time to saddle up: Saddle up and get cycling! Your first stage takes you from Porto Santo Stefano along the impressive coastal landscape to the traditional town of Orbetello. Nestled between two lagoons, the town not only offers historical charm, but also a very special natural spectacle: with a bit of luck, you will experience the impressive rendezvous of the flamingos in the WWF natural oasis Laguna di Orbetello - an unforgettable sight in soft pink. The route continues mostly on well-maintained cycle paths to the remains of the ancient Roman town of Cosa - once a mighty fortress high above the sea. The quiet magic of the past can be felt here at every turn. Your route then takes you through the Duna Feniglia nature reserve, a shady pine forest that stretches like a green ribbon between the lagoon and the sea - ideal for a relaxing ride amidst Mediterranean scents and the sounds of nature. Back in Porto Santo Stefano, the Atlantis is already waiting. Together you set course for the next destination: the dreamy little harbor town of Talamone. There you can enjoy a peaceful night at anchor under the starry Tuscan sky. Day 3: Set sail for Elba Today it's time to cast off! After a hearty breakfast on board, your first day of sailing begins - and what a day it is: the majestic crossing to Elba lies ahead of you. In favorable winds, you will receive an introduction to the basics of sailing and, if you wish, you can lend a hand yourself when the sail is set and the ship gently begins to move. Ahead of you lies Elba - Italy's third largest island after Sicily and Sardinia - a green paradise with crystal-clear waters, rugged coastlines and places steeped in history. As the ship glides through the turquoise Tyrrhenian Sea, enjoy a freshly prepared lunch on board and let your gaze wander over the horizon. In between, there is time for a refreshing swim - straight from the boat into the sea! In the late afternoon, you will reach the sheltered bay of Porto Azzurro, a little gem on Elba's east coast. After docking, there is still enough time to stroll through the charming little harbor town, enjoy an aperitivo on the piazza or simply admire the sunset over the sailing masts. Day 4: Island charm by bike Today you explore Elba by bike - and experience one of the most scenic stages of the trip. From Porto Azzurro, you start your circular tour towards Capoliveri, a lively hilltop town with narrow alleyways, colorful facades and an unmistakable touch of dolce vita. Treat yourself to a creamy gelato or an aromatic espresso on the piazza - accompanied by the hustle and bustle and the sweeping view of the sea. Your route then continues along a breathtaking panoramic road that winds through the fragrant maquis and offers spectacular views of the coast again and again. A leisurely lunch stop awaits you on the way - perhaps with fresh fish and a glass of wine, as only Elba can produce. Back in Porto Azzurro, the day comes to an enjoyable end: Islandhopping invites you to a wine tasting in the evening. Taste local wines, learn more about the special features of the Elban terroir - and toast to another unforgettable day of travel. Day 5: Panoramas and hidden bays in Elba's north A more athletic stage awaits you today - but also some of the most impressive views of the trip. From Porto Azzurro, you head north across the diverse landscape of Elba. You take your first break in the charming mountain village of Rio nell'Elba, where a freshly brewed coffee and the view of the surrounding hills will recharge your batteries. The route continues through Mediterranean vegetation and over gentle ridges to a real highlight: the viewpoint at Volterraio. From here, a breathtaking view opens up over the wide bay of Portoferraio, Elba's historic capital - a perfect moment for a souvenir photo and a deep breath of fresh air. After a leisurely lunch together, the last stage of the day leads along the coast to the idyllic bay of Enfola. Nestled between rocks and fragrant maquis, it is like a hidden paradise - the perfect place to relax, take a dip or simply enjoy the sound of the sea. Day 6: Over the mountains to the sea The main event stage awaits you today: you cross Elba by bike! After a visit to the quaint mountain village of Marciana, you climb to the highest point of the tour on Monte Perone - the view is spectacular. From there, it's a rapid descent to San Piero in Campo, where a well-earned lunch with a view of the ship awaits. Back on board, take a dip in the refreshing sea before setting sail for Isola Giglio, an unspoiled natural paradise with steep coasts, forests and crystal-clear water. Day 7 + 8: Medieval flair and farewell to the archipelago After docking in Campese, you set off on your last cycle tour: your destination is Giglio Castello, a picturesque fortified village high above the island. After the tour, you will whizz downhill to Giglio Porto. From there, you set course back to Porto Santo Stefano. On deck, you can enjoy the wind, waves and look back on an unforgettable week one last time. It's time to say goodbye at the final evening on board: Arrivederci, Tuscany! On day 8, you can check out in Porto Stefano after breakfast on board by 9:00 a.m. and start your individual journey home or extend your Italian vacation.
